This is fantastic.
OMG there are more.
Anonymous said: I read somewhere that the Colonel from Looking for Alaska is black. At least that was this forum's discussion. I do not have a problem with his skin color, but I've always imagined him as a white person. What about you?
Alaska and the Colonel are never identified by race in Looking for Alaska. (Nor is Pudge.) I don’t feel qualified to speak to matters outside the text.
In my head “BBTTR” is onomatopoeia, not an initialism.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get my hands on some fucking gourds and arrange them in a horn-shaped basket on my dining room table.
It’s decorative gourd season, motherfuckers.
It is still summer it is not decorative gourd season yet
all the leaves are still green and it’s still warm and I’m still wearing shorts
THE DAYS ARE STILL LONGER THAN THE NIGHTS AND I STILL NEED THE A/C ON
NO IT IS SEPTEMBER I INSIST UPON IT BEING FALL
I HATE THE SUMMER AND WISH IT NOTHING BUT ILL
It dropped to 60F where I am and that is the HIGH FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK.

You know I’m gonna make my office sound like the Hogwarts Express tomorrow.
Knitting Inspiration: hoods. Like, fairy tale hoods. I read somewhere that “capes are in” this year and, while I don’t give a flying fuck about that sort of thing, it does mean that suddenly all these fetching hooded capelet/shawl things are sprouting like mushrooms. (Get it? Mushrooms? Fairy rings….fairy tales? You’re right, that was a bit of a stretch.)
I’m particularly drawn to ones that are heavily textured or almost insubstantial. There was a thing with hooded scarves a few years back that I never really committed to; having seen these more voluminous alternatives, I suddenly understand why I waited. Unlike hoodies, which are ubiquitously casual to the point where I refuse to wear them, and hooded scarves, which make me think of kids who can’t be trusted to not lose individual cold weather items and are thus given a combination mittens/hood/scarf thing, these are poised somewhere between little kid make-believe and massive sophistication. I also suspect that they won’t cause hat hair, although I might have to line them to prevent unfortunate bobby pin accidents.
Sources are, as always, in the captions.
